The 2023 will take place on the weekend of 7/8 October and will again be held at the Moreton Hall Community Centre.

About the Bury St Edmunds Chess Congress

An English Chess Federation Grand Prix event and an East Anglian Grand Prix event.

Five Round Swiss

A five round Swiss Tournament in three sections: Open, Major (u1900) and Minor (u1600) sections.

The rate of play will be: All moves in 90 minutes plus a 15 second increment per move from move one.

New Venue

The Moreton Hall Community Centre, home of the Bury St Edmunds Chess Club, is easily accessible from junction 44 or 45 of the A14.

Car Parking

There is free parking at the venue, with additional spaces nearby.

You will need to display a permit in your vehicle. Entrants will be sent details of how to print their own permit or will be able to obtain one at the event.
